PAROS

Paros, Greece – this island provides a more traditional Greek atmosphere with tiny villages, rugged beaches, and hiking trails –without the crowds or price tag of Santorini or Mykonos. A place 100% worthy of returning.

STAY

Naoussa – fishing village with an upscale vibe. Our airbnb was a 5 minute walk from all the restaurants and provided wonderful views of the island. Not to mention, the shopping is out of this world!

DO

BEACHES

Pounta – our absolute favorite beach in Paros. It’s located just opposite of Anti-Paros making for a perfect combination to visit together. As you can see below, there was no one there! It’s quite popular among kite surfers and the beach is wide – you can drive right up in your car or buggy. Grab some snacks, beer, and a speaker and prepare to spend the entire day here. Want to learn to kite surf? Check out Paroskite.

Monastiri Beach – a resort/beach club setting that attracts families due to its shallow waters. We hiked at Paros Park earlier that morning and couldn’t wait to take a swim. The beach chairs are great quality, but you will pay ~70 euros for two. I’ve read the service isn’t the best, but if you are looking to lounge the entire day, maybe just bring some of your own beverages.

Kolymbithres Beach – a 5 minute drive from Monastiri beach with less people, cheaper beach chairs (30 euro for two), and faster service. Plus you get a nice view of the catamarans.

Piperi Beach – just steps away from Naoussa

Horse Back Riding – go swimming on horse back! You’ll trek about one hour on a trail ride (each way) to the beach where you’ll have a refreshing dip with the horses. You can book via Whatsapp which was super easy and fast. We were traveling in the summer, so the 7am ride was perfect to avoid the heat and kick off the day with adventure.

Santa Maria Beach – to the east of Naoussa. Would be a nice visit after horseback riding. We missed this beach, but I have a feeling we’ll be back.

Day Trip to Anti-Paros – feel like you are the last two people on the island as you head to see The Cave of Antiparos. The ferry takes about 7 minutes to cross from Paros and runs every half hour. If you are looking for a party on the water, check out Captain Ben Cruises.

Explore Lefkes – adored by locals and tourists. Here you can hike a ancient 1,000 year old Byzantine road that you can spot from the Church of Agia Triada.

EAT

Daverona – it is SO, so good. Call ahead or pop in the day before to make reservations to avoid a wait. Anything you order will be exquisite, but I especially liked the sea bream and beetroot carpaccio.

Almond – loved everything about this place! Gives off a Tulum vibe as everything is eco friendly and about living well: fresh juices, organic plates, and delicious coffee. We came especially for breakfast.

Christiana – recommended to us by locals and tourists for dinner.

Souvlakia Kargas – gyro restaurant perfect for lunch

Sigi Ikthios – lively dining atmosphere in Little Venice with fresh fish by the kilo

Moraitis Winery – spend a few hours tasting local Paros wines. If case you are short on time, you’ll find a few of their wines on the Daverona menu too.

Notos – under the radar tavern with excellent octopus ceviche and view of the port

An epic Greek adventure…we’ll see you soon, Paros!
